FAQs

Q: "Do you do both Hair And Makeup?"

Sarah is confident and trained in both bridal hair styling and makeup. However, Sarah has a maximum of 3 people per booking for hair and makeup (as 3 people takes 6 hours to complete not including touch ups) This is to ensure a high standard for every service on your wedding day.

Q: Do you travel?

Yes! Sarah can travel to wherever your wedding may be. Travel fees 1.50per km. There is minimum call out fee $700 for all weddings. She is also happy to travel outside of whangarei and overseas.

Q: "How should I prep my hair before my wedding day?

Could everyone please wash and blow dry your hair smooth the night before. This will help hold factor for up styles or glamour waves. DO NOT using a straightening iron.
If anyone is just wanting a blowdry they can wash their hair the morning of the wedding day.
Wash your hair twice with shampoo and condition mid lengths to ends. Check shampoo and conditoners for silicions, as these will make the hair too slippery and it will not hold style well.
Do not use any products in the hair, e.g. Serums, smoothing creams, argon/morroccon oil etc.
On the day wear a loose button up shirt or robe so your hairstyle is not affected when you change into your dress!

Q: "How should I prep my skin before my wedding day?

Sarah recommends any facials/waxing/tweezing at least 1 week before your wedding day as this can sometimes cause breakouts.

You can lightly exfoliate and apply a hydrating moisturiser the night before. In the morning, gently wash your face and apply a light moisturiser. Avoid any products that contain sunscreen as this can cause “flashback” (a white face). If you don't have anything you think is suitable, do not apply anything and Sarah will moisturise, prep your skin for you before applying your makeup.

Q: Should I have a trial?

To ensure your big day flows easily, a trial is highly recommended. Sarah will discuss in person different and hairstyles and makeup. This gives you time to, decide on a look you love and then recreate it on you! Trials are held out of Sarah’s studio.

Q: How do you organise the day with timings etc?

Sarah will allow 45-65 mintues per person for hairstyling or makeup services. This can again depend on the hairstyle chosen. Also allow time for touch-ups at the end (Around half an hour) It is always recommended that hair and makeup is completed at least 1 hour before you need to leave for the ceremony. This is a basic guide, as sarah will personally talk with you to organise a schedule for your morning so it runs smoothly and everyone has a lot of fun!
